Taste & See - Liturgical Ministries

We begin Taste and See by sharing more about our Liturgical Ministry. Liturgical Ministry includes participating in our celebration of mass. As a liturgical minister, you are connecting with God and helping the community do the same. By participating in these roles, you are bringing the word of God to life, assisting the Priest in the liturgy through sharing of the blessed sacrament, and preparing the altar for the celebration of mass to take place.

Serving as a Liturgical Minister is not only a way to deepen your own faith but to help deepen the faith of others through participating in the liturgy. Don’t just take our word from it, here is what one of our Altar Servers had to say:

“For me, a line from the Prayer of St. Francis says it all: "It is in giving that we receive".  As an Altar Server, I have a real physical, as well as a spiritual closeness to the Eucharist.  What more can one, who is not Ordained, ask for?”

Roles within our Liturgical Ministry:

• Lectors serve an integral role by bringing the word of God to life through proclaiming scripture and prayers at mass. Do you feel called to share the word of God with your community?

• Altar servers assist in the preparation of the alter during services. This is a perfect role for those who like to follow processes and help things run smoothly.

• Extraordinary Ministers distribute the Eucharist with the Priest during mass. Are you of a prayerful spirit that wants to help make sure others are connected to the Body of Christ during mass? This may be the role for you.
